
STUDENT THERAPIST PROGRAM
Free and low-cost ($75/hour or sliding scale) therapy options are available with graduate psychology students in Clinical and Counselling Psychology, completing their clinical practicum under the supervision of Dr. Megan Vokey.
Student therapists see children, adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties including low mood, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, low-self-esteem, body image issues, burnout, stress, grief, trauma, and loss. Student therapists provide various therapy modalities, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, client-centred therapy, narrative therapy and more.

LAUREL APPELL
Laurel is completing her final requirements towards her Masters of Education degree, specializing in Guidance and Counselling, at Brandon University. Laurel has been a high school teacher of Alternative Education in Thompson, Manitoba and Winnipeg’s inner city for the last 8 years. It is extremely important to Laurel that her clients know she is a passionate ally of the LGBTQIA+ and Indigenous communities.
Laurel typically works with young people (children through young adult). Within her practice, Laurel utilizes mindfulness, compassion-based, solution-focused, narrative, and person-centered therapy approaches to support clients through issues such as anxiety, depression, gender identity, relationships, and self-esteem. Laurel is dedicated to being trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and supportive of diversity and inclusion.
In addition to her counselling work with Dr. Vokey, and work as a high school teacher and counsellor, Laurel has also worked as a tutor and action therapist for Jordan’s Principle for the last 2 years. Laurel specializes in teaching English and social studies to her students, while utilizing the values of the Mamahtawisiwin document in order to help her students live The Good Life.
BRITTANY BRACKE
Brittany is currently a student at Yorkville University, completing her Masters of Counselling Psychology degree. She graduated in June 2023 from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts Advanced degree, majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology. Throughout the completion of her graduate program, Brittany has worked full-time as an Employment Counsellor for adults experiencing mental health issues at a local non-profit organization. This experience has allowed her to provide empathic help and support to individuals with various mental health conditions while working towards their differing goals.
The therapeutic relationship is a central focus for Brittany in her practice, and she holds the belief that the therapeutic process is unique to each individual client. Brittany utilizes a variety of evidence-based approaches, with a special focus on solution-focused, person-centred, mindfulness, and CBT to empower individuals to navigate a variety of challenges. She is passionate about working with individuals across the lifespan, and with a variety of issues. Creating and upholding a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel valued and respected is of utmost importance to her.
NATHALIE FOX
Nathalie Fox is a practicum student in the Master of Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. Nathalie has a bachelor’s degree in Family Social Sciences from the University of Manitoba, a decade of experience in social work, and extensive knowledge of working with children, adolescents, and families who have experienced trauma.

Nathalie believes therapy is rooted in the belief that each person is unique and requires specific interventions and techniques to work through their problems. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based interventions, such as CBT, person-centered/humanistic, and mindful approaches, tailoring her methods to meet your individual needs best.
Nathalie's therapeutic approach is centred around building authentic relationships with her clients. She believes a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for healing and growth. Her goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported, fostering a relationship built on trust and respect.
MEGAN SKRUMEDA
Megan completed a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She is entering her Full Circle Psychology practicum with a deep sense of purpose and excitement to supporting clients in a private practice therapeutic setting.
Alongside her studies, Megan works as a mental health facilitator at a non-profit organization, where she facilitates group sessions focused on anxiety and depression. She also volunteers with an organization that supports individuals with ADHD, facilitating psychoeducational groups and promoting emotional regulation strategies. These experiences have further ignited her passion for group work and community-based mental health support.
Her clinical areas of interest include anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, self-esteem, and relationships. She is committed to providing inclusive, person-centred care that is collaborative, trauma-informed, and responsive to each client’s unique needs. Her approach incorporates a bend of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as strengths-based, and solution-focused techniques. Above all, Megan strives to create a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and goals.
